Rules and Regulations
- Bags, Files, Briefcases, Parcels, Hats or Umbrellas are not allowed to be brought into the Library. They may be kept on the Shelves at the entrance of the Library.
- Silence is to be observed in the Library.
- Mobile phones are not permitted to use inside the Library Therefore switch off or turn it to silent .
- Smoking, the consumption of food & drink, and the use of matches or use of lighters are forbidden in all part of the Library.
- Join work is not permitted inside the Library.
- Reader/Users may take any books they require from the shelves.
- Readers/Users should not replace books on the shelves but should leave them on a table.
- When taking any books, documents or papers out of the Library such materials must be produced for inspection by Library Staff, if required.
- Any Reader/User stealing or knowingly removing Library materials will be liable to a suspension from borrowing. She/he is also liable to be reported to the Director for disciplinary action.
- Library books/ documents are not permitted to taken out of Sri Lanka without the permission of the senior Assistant Librarian/Head Library.
- Any disorderly of improper conduct or breach of the regulations will render the reader or borrower concerned liable to suspension from the use of the Library.
- Permission to use the Library is given on condition that regulation of the Library will be strictly observed.
- Readers/ Users are presumed to know them and to have undertaken to observe them.
